“Builder-Grade Kitchen Island Transformation”
Breakfast Island & Home Bar
This project began with a standard builder-grade kitchen island. The worktop was extended to create a breakfast bar, while a floor-to-ceiling display cabinet was seamlessly integrated into one end of the island. Together, these additions transformed it into a multifunctional feature for breakfast, food preparation and evening entertaining.
More than simply adding storage, the bespoke joinery introduces architectural interest and creates a natural focal point within the kitchen. It's a transformation that demonstrates how thoughtful built-ins can redefine a new-build home—adding personality, improving functionality, and creating a space that feels intentionally designed rather than simply fitted.

The design centres around a floor-to-ceiling drinks display cabinet that feels as though it has always belonged within the kitchen, rather than being an afterthought.
Painted in a deep olive green with warm oak shelving, the cabinet reflects the clean simplicity of modern farmhouse design while taking subtle inspiration from the relaxed, lived-in character of European interiors. Open shelves provide space to display glassware, favourite spirits and carefully chosen decorative pieces, while concealed storage keeps everyday essentials neatly tucked away.
